kumimonster: (nawa wrists)
so i've been doing this fetish modely thing for some time now.
in comparison, working in bondage has been a bit more recent.
but i think i've done well in it after just a few years.
the past two years i've been in the sygny award's top 10 for best bondage model.
of course, the online contest is mostly a popularity thing.
but then isn't that what a contest is?
anyways, i normally don't enter contests but i do enter that one.
being able to produce and perform in my bondage shows have opened quite a few avenues.
i've been able to work with a variety of riggers in Europe and the US as well in both small and large performances:
(not counting shoots, but shows)
denver, [livejournal.com profile] fd_midori
portland [livejournal.com profile] mortalcity
las vegas, james nawashibari
los angeles [livejournal.com profile] blaze_la
san francisco, [livejournal.com profile] fd_midori, [livejournal.com profile] mortalcity
tampa, lew rubens
toronto, [livejournal.com profile] fd_midori
berlin, [livejournal.com profile] fd_midori
copenhagen, karina & bjarne
essen, amrita
london [livejournal.com profile] fd_midori, amrita, satomi, mistress victoria
rome [livejournal.com profile] tatsu_otoko, elmera

once again i'll be in london working with [livejournal.com profile] fd_midori
we're crossing our fingers for japan.
next april i'm confirmed to perform in amsterdam.

ok. so bouncing back to the photography.
shooting with gilles berquet was one of my goals.
i just remember seeing his work and loving it.
i cant want to shoot again when i get to paris in november.
i wanted to shoot with gunter blum too.
but that's a bit more difficult since he's no longer on this earth.

i also want to shoot with araki.
well, this opportunity is now going to be even closer than i imagined.
Noboyushi Araki is having his first major London show on the 6th of October.
it's timed to take place at the same time as the Rubberball and TG is helping to put it on.
Of course the night before is the private viewing so me and [livejournal.com profile] fd_midori (all jet lagged of course) are going to be attending.

He leaves on the 6th. But I will rearrange my schedule to shoot. (though this means missing out on a day in Wales). Hoping for the 4th of October.

watched more DVDs i recently picked up

that one's about charlie richardson. i guess the character narrates the film too.
he explains how he met the krays in prison and then the movie just shows him and his crew beating up a lot of people that didn't follow their rules.

i dug that luke goss guy when he was in blade 2. he played that fucked up vampire with the jaw that split open.
he's all evil looking n shit.

movie shoulda talked more about gang intrigue, dealins, n shit. spent too much time showing guys pants down while they got electricuted

amazon link

also got this.
comes with a bunch of stuff.
schindler's list widescreen gift set
DVD, film book. CD soundtrack, and a senitype.
i got the bit of film showing the little girl in a red coat being led by a soldier
all in a pretty plexiglass box with metal rivets.
(fucking bit of it got cracked in shipping tho. still together but cracked. shit).

the film image book kicks ass. now i think i know why i liked this film. it was like watching pictures move.
just like taking all those war photography books i love and sticking them into a moving piece of work.
nice.

Araki: Self•Life•Death
6 Oct/05 – 22 Jan/06
Barbican Art Gallery
£8/£6

One of the most radical and controversial photographers of our time, Nobuyoshi Araki documents social taboos surrounding sexuality and death. Encompassing contemporary Japanese sub-culture, from poetic scenes of old Tokyo, to the dark side of urban life and eroticised female bodies in a variety of fantasy settings.

This is the first major show of Araki in London.

The exhibition contains work of an adult nature.
We recommend the exhibition is unsuitable for children and parental guidance is advised.

Also:

With over 400 images on display the show reflects Arakis extraordinary breadth of work - from the shocking to the sublime.

Arakis work explores old Tokyo, sex, nudity, Japanese rope bondage, taboo and death.

The Araki Exhibition is being co-promoted in association with TGs Rubber Ball Special, and there is a special £2 off discount to the exhibition with TGs flyer (5 - 8pm all days except Tue & Thur).

We have also been given an exclusive selection of Arakis images to project at TGs club event in the form of an installation in the Performance Dungeon Arena - running throughout the night.
