i have been doing stuff.
lots of stuff.
went over to hawaii again but not for fun, for work. unfortunately, the didn't get hired for my new dream job.
i'll have to try again later. Dont bother asking what it was. I'm not posting about it in public.
But it's got nothing to do with fetish or club work and that's exactly what I want.

i went to SFO to check out the new terminal 2 opening
ran into [livejournal.com profile] big_al

i've been posting lots of images over at my moblog though.

everything seems to move too quickly. i think i barely had time to get used to writing 2010 and now i have to get used to 2011.
still looking for new normal work job thing. i should say, new career actually.

After I got back from Hawaii, there was an eclipse. I tried to go see it for a bit but it was cold I was feeling really tired.
I didn't have energy to stay out and wait so went home. Eventually I poked my head out of the house to see the moon turn red though.

xmas eve with family...

2010 december 24 - palo alto

oh and that sore throat cough cough thing i had last week wasn't what i thought it was.
it seems my old root canal tooth (upper right) was acting up. the space above was totally infected.
the original problem started at the UC Dental in San Francisco so it wasn't Mexico related.
I woke up Xmas morning around 5am in pain and although ibuprofen helped at first, by evening i was miserable,
Ended up having dad drive me to Stanford which doesn't offer dental care.
They didn't believe me when I said I didn't have a cavity problem, but an infection. (My face felt def larger on my right side).
They did give me an Rx for antibiotics and Vic.
2010 december 25 - palo alto
The next day I was still in pain. I got in touch with my local dds and arranged to meet the following day.
But later on, she called and asked to see me that evening even though it was the day after xmas and they were closed.
I guess she thought it was an emergency enough. (By this time I could feel my nerves reacting to spots under my eye, near my ear and down my neck. My bite had been flat but now my tooth was extended well below it). OMG crying like a baby in the chair. It hurt so bad. I would've much rather gotten my back pierced again (which didn't actually hurt anyway). Luckily the nitrous helped a lil - i think.

In any case, everything is going down now. The infection has drained. And I have one less tooth, but it wasn't worth saving. I'll have to get an implant later but now I shouldn't have any future problems.

---
For NYE i went up to SF. party at Violet Blue/DotBen's pad. there were lots of ppl I got to see that I haven't seen in a long time. People that I actually like rather than just a bunch of fetish people I *had* work with. (Not that I don't miss seeing some of them - I do like a few!).
Didn't really drink that much alcohol. Didn't get drunk but had fun regardless. :-D

that's all.

I've been seriously craving a diving trip but unfortunately, funds are an issue. I have to save so I can blow it all in Hawaii! But still, after I got back from Texas, I didn't want to spend a stagnant week just bouncing around craigslist and other places (still looking for a new gig).

While I was looking up dive operators in Hawaii, I realized some of them charge over 2-3x more than here! So I decided to just get in some scuba related stuff this week regardless by signing up for the Rescue Diver course. :-) Which I did.
Saturday required a trip down to Monterey and some in-water sessions at Breakwater. It seemed like it was going to be a chore because of the weather forecast but in the end, the skies were clear, the sun was out and the water not too terrible after all!
Oh and to make my trip easier, I drove half way down to Santa Cruz to spend the night with [livejournal.com profile] rjkeener  and [livejournal.com profile] misscon . We hit the Jury Room for a show while I avoided pounding shot after shot of JD (didn't want to be feeling like shite in the am). I woke up with the sun (and my alarm) and bundled up for the drive down CA-1 along the coast. That was pretty damn nice too!

A couple of weeks ago, I took a trip down to San Diego with some friends.
A pretty simple itinerary. Airport, Hotel, Food, Sleep, Dive, Dive, Dive, Food, Sleep, Zoo, Airport.

It was fun tho I was pretty grumpy cuz of owie teeth. (which I took care of right after the SD trip in the bestest way!)
And before flying out of Oakland airport (instead of San Jose), me n Alexis was in San Francisco running errands and scarfing up yummy stuff at Ti Couz.

I like Tampa airport.
it's easy, it's nice, and it's got free wifi and a smoking area after security.
instead of heading back to california, i decided to stop off in phoenix to visit cookie and steve during their arizona heat fetish party weekend.
i wasn't booked to work or anything, i just figured i'd spend time with them and also enjoy the hot weather (since i didn't get enough of it in florida!)

we shifted over to the hotel for the weekend - that way i could spend more time at the pool. actually, it was more convenient for the party.
i just like going to the pool. it was so hot. and the room i was in ended up having a busted a/c unit. i usually don't like a/c but it's nice to have a little bit of a cool room when it's 110+ outside and around 100 inside.
oh, the main show that night was lords of acid and thrill kill kult. i'd not seen them in ages.

Within the space of a single month this year, I flew into Texas twice from London. The first time was near the end of May for the Houston FetishBall and the 2nd time was in June. First I flew into Dallas and bounced over to San Antonio for a couple of days and then headed back to Dallas for the rest of my visit.

2010 june 22 - LHR to DFW to SAT

2010 june 23 - san antonio

Several months ago, around the time of my birthday, I made a couple of decisions. The first was to use the rest of this year to wrap up my shooting - that is, to travel as I normally would, but also tell any interested photographers that this would be my last year of booking such shoots. I'll still do some work next year with friends like Valentina and HW/FetishLive though. The other thing that popped into my head was the idea that I wanted to try and hang. There are a number of people I am friends with that regularly do this, but when it came to figuring out who I'd look to for my first attempt, it was pretty much a no-brainer. So off to Dallas it was to visit [livejournal.com profile] allenfalkner . Samar flew in from San Francisco to help out (make me bleed) and Athena Fatale was there as well to document. Courtney arrived after work to help out a bit too.

There were another thing I was certain of as well. I wasn't interested in putting on a performance. Shifting into doing hook suspensions for shows is still not my intention. I wanted this to be a private, personal attempt and putting myself on display like I normally do for work would detract from my goal.

I made the decision to do this sometime around February/March of this year. I also mentioned it to Allen when he came out for my birthday party. After that I really didn't think much about it until I had to book my flight into Dallas. Once that was done, again, i didn't think much about it at all. For some reason I thought that it'd be something to slightly stress over but in the end, the idea only started to make me nervous about 30 minutes before the first hooks went in.

So I spent the week hanging out with Allen & Samar and even Kurt from Art with Latex who hooked me up with some cool pasties for my Sunday evening performance at the Church. We even went shopping at Ikea to buy candles... super great smelling candles. But the show is another story. Hell, I think the ropes hurt me more than the hooks in the end. It seemed definitely more traumatic to be honest, especially after the uncontrolled rack-like experience the audience subjected me to.

After the week at sea, I spent the next few days hanging out with F and S. I also got to meet her friend S who lived in the area.
( F & S used to live in San Diego).
After the journey back into the US, we all met up at the Sheraton near the airport. Most of the hotels around were full because that same weekend ComicCon was happening.
So then, we ended up heading downtown to have some sushi which was yum.

then we headed back to the hotel for an early night, except I headed over to Shelter Island to the Ramada where I met up with some of the guys from the dive trip. Unfortunately, I forgot to take many photos of the drunks and the ones i got aren't that great.

the next evening we met up with [livejournal.com profile] corruptmorals  and [livejournal.com profile] sissystck  for dinner.  we were joined by S's friend S as well as [livejournal.com profile] stevedietgoedde  too. we got to sit outside and watch the freaks from comic con too. heh.

after dinner we walked up n down the street for a bit before going out separate ways.

the next day me and F & S headed for La Jolla and it was really nice!
we also came across a farmer's market full of yum things.

Then we left La Jolla to visit S's friend S again for dinner. The day continued to be pretty damn nice!

And that was it. Cuz then it was off to the airport...

2010 july 21

as usual woke up early and had the first breakfast as we cruised over to the dive site. omg. the water seemed like it was going to be cold too but as we were headed to the Eureka Oil Platform, I decided not going in was not going to be an option.

  2010 july 21 - eureka oil platform

So yeah. i did the first one. and yeah. it was cold! But I saw some neat things, even harbor seals that played in the water though most were just chilling out where they could.

I skipped the 2nd dive. Brrr! But after lunch, we headed over to Santa Catalina where the sun decided to make an appearance. Some of us got to dive around Long Point and then afterwards we were offered the option to dive again, or hit Avalon - I did the latter where we found establishments that served beverages that were made from alcohol. *hic*

Woke up early again today as we pulled into Ventura Harbor. Got to check emails but still no real internet access as far as posting things n what not. Posted a few images to the moblog but kind of halted with the video postings. Cant figure out my password for google mail dammit. Anyway, got to run ashore to chase down cigarettes at the local shop. Nice.

Now back to sea and headed to Anacapa. Hopefully the weather clears up for some better diving today!

  2010 july 20 - anacapa

Cathedral Bay. went down with 3300 up wit 1100. supposed to have giant bass below but didnt see any. sea hare, nudies and cucumbers. lobster shells too. sea lions were swimming along side the boat but didnt see any underwater either. temp was warmer too even tho no sun. around 65 at the surface and 61 at the bottom. only about 40 ft at most. nice enough dive. kelp is always awesome. bit of a current but not so bad near the bottom. around the kelp was more surge tho.
2nd dive a couple hundred metres away. got dressed but enormous cramping started happening so i'm skipping this one. back in bed to sit it out. grrr.

2010 july 19 - san miguel

Early AM rise - 06h00. Showered and then got dressed for the first breakfast and first dive briefing. Lots of sea lions on the surface got me excited to jump in regardless of the much colder temps. Off near the small beach on the island were larger seals. This time used my 1mm suit under the semi-dry. Lots of sea hares and some kelp. Star fish, urchin and a crab. Didn't run into any sea lions among the kelp though. Short dive. Got a bit cold but bearable with the suit. The double layer did end up compressing against my arms though which slowed down circulation so it was constantly in the back of my mind. Oh, and low vis. Not the best dive of the trip so far.

2010 july 19 - san miguel

2010 july 19 - san miguel

About to hit dive spot number two now. I think I'll take a siesta. The sun is still not shining yet. There are still sea lions popping up out of the water. It'd be great to play with them but I can't see jumping in right now.
Second dive underway. Still seem to be the same conditions only even more sea lions popping up above the surface. They seem like they are ready to play and as much as i'd like to play with them it's just too cold and i'm a bit tired. There is the option to lower the kayaks but one of the crew says it's a bit too foggy and difficult to see us if we end up going out too far so they suggested we wait until the next stop. Which is fine.
cuyler harbor. (north) to prince island. 2 dives
Ended up passing out for the 3rd and 4th dives as well. so only one dive for me today in the cold water!

2010 july 18

Awoke this morning with internet service on my phone. Got a quick update on the MotoGP Germany results and headed up to breakfast.
Catalina Island was to our left and we cruised past Avalon and stopped by Long Point which ended up being our first dive site of the day.
I jumped back into my suit and decided to test out Sten's recommendations of last nite. He has the same semi-dry suit. He told me to jump in without any weight which I did. I was unable to even make a short descent. Meanwhile, Frank's drysuit ended up with a hole so he jumped out to fix it. I added 6 pounds to my waist and then tried again. It seemed to work better but I went down a little too quickly. Unfortunately too much current to really dial it in. Oh well, next time. Breakfast! Yum! Eggs benedict!

2010 july 18 - santa catalina

Right now at Goat Harbor for the 2nd dive of the day. I almost fell asleep but bell rang for dive meeting. I'm thinking about skipping this one although I should go and make another attempt at the weight issue. Feeling too lazy though. Grr. Broke a nail on my left middle finger. Craptastic. Fuck it. I go get dressed.
Almost seem to have gotten weight sorted out. 6 lbs around waist and 1000 in the tank. 4 more lbs added to the tank. then 2 more. so back at 12. originally started with 14 on the first day. maybe try again but around the waist. Third dive coming up in 30 minutes. same location. maybe i'll skip this one. we'll see. want a siesta!
Had a siesta and then went down for the 4th dive of the day near Seal Rock. Everything went much better. Saw a raw and a huge pile of spaghetti which i found out was a bunch of eggs for the California Sea Hare. Kelp forests diving is nice. Especially when the sun shines through :)
2010 july 18 - santa catalina

Grilled salmon for dinner tonight. YUM. Bed @ 9pm. Tomorrow headed for San Miguel.

2010 july 17

Woke up with the waves hitting the porthole and eventually stopped near the Coronado Islands.

At North Coronado island, we all had breakfast and then geared up for the first dives of the trip and day after the meeting. The water temp was a little warmer than expected.
2010 july 17 - north coronado island

2010 july 17 - north coronado island

My diving suit is a new one. It's a ScubaPro 6.5mm semi-dry suit with hoodie and gloves. The boots I'm wearing are Aqualung and don't actually go with the suit but they worked out fine. Steel tank full at 3400 - nitrox. Unfortunately I was weighted down with an additional 14 pounds. First dive of the day felt comfortable enough. Suit works great although there's some leaking at the wrist - the interior of the suit gets wet up to my forearms. At the legs, my ankles and lower calves get wet but the middle part and back are fine as the neck and hood create a pretty nice seal. Initially the water seemed cold but it wasn't really - or else the suit is doing its job quite well! I'd be curious to know how it'd work with the proper boots.
This first dive was pretty awesome, saw a smattering of fish, but also quite a few sea lions that decided to come out to play. One swam around me quite a bit and then at one point when I was near the bottom, one swam up under me and stopped. Then while I looked at it, it started to do some barrel rolls while keeping eye contact! Fun! It seems like if you react to play with them they stick around. If you do nothing they get bored and swim away to find someone more engaging that will play with them. :-)

2010 july 17 -  between the coronado islands & san diego

Second dive was pretty much the same but saw a few other things. This time though, I was having problems equalizing with my right ear. Eventually it got sorted out. Saw some sea hares and other large slugy things. Again, then sea lions came out to play.
Both dives went well enough during, but near the end I was having problems popping up too quickly around 20-25 feet. Seems the issue might be the BC - need to try and completely dump the air out of that thing, also, i'm sinking too quickly. Need to drop some weight.
For the 3rd dive of the day, the ship cruised over to some kelp beds. I skipped this dive.
Then we headed into the USA and into Shelter Island in San Diego to go through customs. After that, back to sea!

woke up early and dad and uncle jack dropped me off at SFO.
2010 july 16 - SFO to SAN

United Airlines. meh. middle seat. short enough flight tho and uneventful which is always good.
Landed at SAN and the weather was great! F showed up about 30 minutes later and from there we took a cab to the Ramada at Point Loma where the other divers were all meeting up. Departure time for Ensenada wasn't for a few hours so we took a walk over to Point Loma Seafoods for a bit of late lunch. YUM! Good karma came into play too! As we were walking to toss away our rubbish, I took a hesitant step, looked down at my phone, and avoided some avian bombs that fell just a foot in front of me! yippee!

2010 july 16 - san diego

We still had plenty of time so took a walk towards Shelter Island along the waterfront and enjoyed the view.

2010 july 16 - san diego

Eventually headed back and then decided to have early dinner at a great resto called Old Venice. YUM! (again).
Again, walked back to the Ramada where a few of the divers were upstairs at the bar.
Eventually the coach arrived and we all loaded up for the drive to the US/Mexico border.

2010 july 16 - san diego to ensenada

2010 july 16 - san diego to ensenada

There we were stopped and were selected to go through the process so all the bags were unloaded and checked as well as our passports. A little less than 2 hours later we were en route to Ensenada. A few people slept while I watched Top Gear with some divers from New York :-)
Finally, we arrived. Everyone boarded the boat while the crew loaded up our luggage. Jumped into the shower and then climbed into bed while the boat rocked me to sleep.

This time, I left SF earlier than last time which was the best idea.
I got to stop off at the various attractions on the way.
But now I'm thinking an extra day or two would have been better to really take the time to do things like the SkunkTrain and throw my feet in the Eel River!

As ever, looking out the windows of either plane or airport and seeing these tails makes me happy. For a number of reasons, I simply love Terminal 5 at Heathrow. Being at this airport makes me happy.

2010 may 19 - LHR to IAH

Aside from the dairy products all over my special non-lactose meal, the flight was uneventful.
Mjok picked me up from the airport and we went and got a bit to eat and I was taken to my temporary residence. I don't have to mention that the weather was hot which I loved!

I attempted to get over my jetlag and didn't do much the rest of the day. Unfortunately, there was no wifi at the house and eventually, after realizing my phone had a GPS application that allowed me to search for cafes and other types of shops, I was able to find a nice cafe down the street a short walk away. Too bad Comcast was down in the area initially!

In any case, the next day, the girls picked me up and we drove around downtown. I liked it. I learned that Houston has an underground series of tunnels that connect the various buildings. It's quite interesting and the one passage we were n was cool and clean. I wonder how much the upkeep is in such a thing. I wonder if there are ever any safety issues.

2010 may 21 - found the cafe. attempted to make internet connection but not going to happen.
then went to do a shoot with martin paul pierce at his most awesome flat

A single image of the rooftop pool area wouldn't suffice, so here's a video!

That night was also the first party we had to go to.
Athena Fatale had made the drive up from Dallas and [livejournal.com profile] lithium_picnic  was still in town with [livejournal.com profile] ebolagrande  so we ll went over to the club together.
This is actually before we set foot in the bar. It's just blurry.

The next day was a much needed food day. Athena and I went and got it and also took care of some errands.
that night was the big party too!

BTW, Athena and I did two shows. The 2nd one involved a lot of props including water and making a bit of a mess.
it was quite fun too. But for some reason, none of the boys actually saw either performance - nor have they ever actually seen me perform.
instead, they left the venue to go on a manhunt (really, they wanted to find jeffrey star who performed earlier in the venue).
they made it back in time to see us getting out of our catsuits.
asstards.
regardless, after the party, food was needed.

And the following morning, after a visit to the internet/art cafe, more food was needed so we tried out the super greek place across the street!

Then on the 24th, I was taken back to IAH for my return flight to London.
I only got one shot out of the window because i had to run to the back of the plane to do it.
For some reason, I didn't get my normally requested window seat.

once again i'm behind on the blogging.
And once again i'm awake early due to jetlag.
So maybe it's a perfect time to make an attempt at posting something in here but too much has happened to cover all of it so instead i'll end up making a half ass attempt to write anything to fill the space - at least that's what usually happens. Perhaps this time I can write something worth remembering?

Either way, I'm currently in Texas now. Dallas to be exact and staying with [livejournal.com profile] allenfalkner . I actually flew in to San Antonio after a DFW connection to shoot there for a day, then headed directly back to Dallas. I can't recall if I've ever visited here before. I know I've never performed here but on Sunday that will change. I'm going to attempt to do the show I did in Rome a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to figure out how to get around the nudity issue. Sometimes being back in the US is really irritating. But come to think of it, San Antonio & Dallas are two new cities I can now add to my list of places I've worked and SAT, DFW (?), and DAL are 3 new airports I've been to. I really need to take advantage of today and find something touristy to do! Any suggestions? The weather is hot and full of sun and it'd be stupid to spend it in front of the computer all day.

I'm certainly enjoying these bounces into Texas. Funny how just last month (19-24 May) I was in Houston. It's find it odd how after never (or rarely) traveling to an area all of a sudden I do two visits in the space of so little time. I'm not complaining though. I enjoy the heat and this domestic travel is helping me to appreciate being in the USA (ie. not hate being in the US).

In other small news, I think I'm going to have to seriously consider going back to virgin atlantic. the last 4 flights with british airways have left me wanting.
here's a shot from 2010 may 19 of my LHR to IAH flight.
*Reminder: I'm lactose intolerant so I keep a BA profile which states I require a non-lactose meal.

Houston, though it took place a month ago, deserves it's own post. So i'll do a new one for it.
I also need to write new emails to British Airways about the last series of flight experiences.

One good thing about the jetlag is that I keep waking up early without any problems.
This is great because I'm awake on time to watch the WorldCup matches happening.
I can't believe Italy, the current world champions, were knocked out. I can't believe the runner's up to the championship for the last WC (France) not only failed to make it out of the group round and acted like spoiled infants.
I can't believe the US made first in its group over England! Both were great last games!
It'll be interesting to see the upcoming matches. This am it's Portugal against Brazil!
Actually the past matches were great too.
I didn't think i cared much about North Korea but watching them play against Brazil was amazing.
Especially how the defense prevented Brazil from scoring at all until the 55th minute of the game.

For some reason, I like this image

hanging out in the airport lounge
was a totally good idea considering all the volcano ash drama occurring again.
tho now i'm going to have a tummy ache from all the pickled onions and little bruscheta things i've been eating.
the kiwi is pretty damn yummy tho.

the flight was originally for 18h00 but was pushed back til 20h45.
easyjet gave me a voucher which i used on yummy caramel icecream/gelato

the flight is now delayed until 21h30 but apparently the flight HAS left london and has almost arrived to hamburg.
phew!

unfortunately, Roswell_ivory's 21h30 flight to Gatwick isn't going to be on time. the plane hasn't even left london yet.
---

ok. i was mid-post before. then had to rush to the gate for boarding.
ended up changing her flight to mine by being sweet and adamant so she didnt have to spend the night in hamburg...

now, back at the flat in london.
tomorrow, some errands and packing for Texas - ash willing!

the other nite a bunch of us went to dinner.
it took us a while to get there but it was probably worth the walk in that we got to see some pretty neat things!
