everything seems to move too quickly. i think i barely had time to get used to writing 2010 and now i have to get used to 2011.
still looking for new normal work job thing. i should say, new career actually.

After I got back from Hawaii, there was an eclipse. I tried to go see it for a bit but it was cold I was feeling really tired.
I didn't have energy to stay out and wait so went home. Eventually I poked my head out of the house to see the moon turn red though.

xmas eve with family...

2010 december 24 - palo alto

oh and that sore throat cough cough thing i had last week wasn't what i thought it was.
it seems my old root canal tooth (upper right) was acting up. the space above was totally infected.
the original problem started at the UC Dental in San Francisco so it wasn't Mexico related.
I woke up Xmas morning around 5am in pain and although ibuprofen helped at first, by evening i was miserable,
Ended up having dad drive me to Stanford which doesn't offer dental care.
They didn't believe me when I said I didn't have a cavity problem, but an infection. (My face felt def larger on my right side).
They did give me an Rx for antibiotics and Vic.

The next day I was still in pain. I got in touch with my local dds and arranged to meet the following day.
But later on, she called and asked to see me that evening even though it was the day after xmas and they were closed.
I guess she thought it was an emergency enough. (By this time I could feel my nerves reacting to spots under my eye, near my ear and down my neck. My bite had been flat but now my tooth was extended well below it). OMG crying like a baby in the chair. It hurt so bad. I would've much rather gotten my back pierced again (which didn't actually hurt anyway). Luckily the nitrous helped a lil - i think.

In any case, everything is going down now. The infection has drained. And I have one less tooth, but it wasn't worth saving. I'll have to get an implant later but now I shouldn't have any future problems.

For NYE i went up to SF. party at Violet Blue/DotBen's pad. there were lots of ppl I got to see that I haven't seen in a long time. People that I actually like rather than just a bunch of fetish people I *had* work with. (Not that I don't miss seeing some of them - I do like a few!).
Didn't really drink that much alcohol. Didn't get drunk but had fun regardless. :-D

that's all.

------------

I published a book of my photography work, focusing on one model I've
worked with for several years. The book was made during a class at
Stanford Continuing Studies on creating a fine art photography book.
The class was taught by Brigitte Carnochan.

A book signing will take place this Friday Jul 17 from 7 - 10PM at
Modernbook Gallery on University Ave, Palo Alto. There will be 20
books from the class, exhibiting a wide range of styles and
subjects.

You can find more information in my blog on the work:

A friend did a brief blog also about the class:

The book can be ordered on line through
Blurb.com (follow links off my
blog).

after the obon festival in san jose, I led Samar up to Palo Alto to Stanford University's Cantor Museum.
that's where they have one of the 6 (i think it's 6) versions of Rodin's Gates of Hell as well as 19 other pieces in the outside sculpture garden.
