i remember spending a lot of my time SouthOfMArket when I lived in San Francisco. Actually, I lived in SOMA so that was quite easy. For a couple of years, I lived on the corner of 9th @Folsom. Right across from the Climate theater where those after-parties seem to happen if uncle paul just happens to be hosting or MC-ing an event (locally of course).
Then for a couple years to 8th @Folsom. The Cat's Club faced my window and that's where BondageAGoGo happened for a couple of years too.
Finally to 7th@Folsom. Another warehouse loft space. This one just happened to house MrS Leathers & Fetters a long, long time ago. (i forgot who told me this).

During this time, most of my money was spent on a variety of things at Stormy Leather, a local shop run by women and a great place to get treated wonderfully at the time. Anyway, spending money on things... latex being on of them. and leather too. i had a really nice collection of books and magazines. Skin2, Marquis, and even Secret. There was a magazine called Fetish even. And <<"O">> too. There were a bunch of others as well, but the shop also carried other magazines and books that featured fetish imagery as well. Not just fetish periodicals, but real photography ones!

This was on the cover of one:

I know i owned it at one point. But it's been a long time and i've since misplaced many of the things i possessed over the years.

I did a shoot once in Oakland with a photographer named KarimaCherif and [livejournal.com profile] benson3 was there to do my make up. This was a couple years ago. Not too many. He COVERED my head with plastic 'crystals' and although it wasnt really the same, i ended up with a 10-gallon can of white paint which i got to dump/pour all over me and play in for a while. I was reminded of the Sticky Fingers image all of a sudden. I remember that.

So a few years ago a bunch of local buddies (local meaning domestic) jumped on over to London for the rubberball. I remember [livejournal.com profile] stevedietgoedde getting really excited because BobCarlosClarke was there. I have the image of those 2 together from Steve's camera. Steve will prolly post it in his journal though.

I really wanted to shoot with him. He was on my list of people that I wanted to work with like Gilles Berquet, Mourthe, Eichler, & Araki. I'm jealous and happy that [livejournal.com profile] emilymarilyn got to make such great images with him! Of course, my list has changed a bit now. Though now I have to shift him to the short list that includes Gunter Blum and that just sucks.

Exposition "Fetish". Du 1er avril au 24 juin. Vernissage le 1er avril.
Galerie Fuze : 32 rue Ernest Renan, 75015 Paris. Tél. : 01 72 38 68 57.
