yesterday was great!
woke up early but jen got a later start. i let her sleep in.
after some issues getting to D-land (made it with aid of
stevedietgoedde
eventually we arrived.
no stopping here. there be rides further on!

straight to tomorrowland to get on some rides.

then the train to new orleans square and jumped on the pirates line after not too long a wait. not that impressed with the enhancements to the ride. they just made some jack sparrow figures and stuck them into the existing scenes(except for 1) as well as other bits and bobs (maps, voices, recordings, etc) from the movie which originally came from the ride. hmmm. from ride to movie to ride. but still, the ride is what it is, and pretty fun. jen commented it's like playing "Where's Waldo?" There are at least a couple o JackSparrow animatronics.

then adventureland to hit the Indiana Jones ride. A huge line so you gotta fastpass this.

we also did the river ride cuz well, we were there and the line was short. Jen wanted to do the Tiki show but i refused. hell, i hit hawai'i enough, i dont need to go to SoCal to watch that kinda show.
we headed up to frontierland to try and get a fastpass for BigThunderMountain but there was no line so jumped right on.

ok, i need to mention that smoking is not allowed in the park except for in designated areas. and those TWO areas are in Frontierland (gotta head to the top top bit of it) and inbetween NewOrleansSqare and Critter County. So if you're in fucking TomorrowLand you're fucked. Also, the one in FrontierLand has a bit of shade but if it's sunny, you're gonna die sitting in the sun. The water surrounding Tom Sawyer's island doesnt give up that much in the way of cool breezes.
I was really feeling sad for the guys working the canoe paddling ride. nice arms though!
I love Fantasyland.

The rides are for kids, but the rides where you sit and just visit the scenes (not the whirly go pukes) are from the classic stories and I'm sure they were created with adults in mind too. Alice in Wonderland, Mr Toad, PeterPan, SnowWhite... Storybook ride was closed though.
While in NewOrleansSquare i attempted to make reservations at the Blue Bayou restaurant, but no luck. completely full. yikes! So instead tried out the Cafe Orleans. wow. the seafood crepe was actually quite good and the pecans in the house salad (baby greens in a raspberry vinaigrette) were really yummy. Our waiter was great too. Tipped him quite well.
Anyhoo, back to the rides soon after. we had another fast pass in hand for IndianaJones (2nd round) so back to that. Oh and hey, the ride is a lot more fun when you dont hold on and lift your feet up. that way you get tossed n stuff more. more rides more rides then time to go home. jen was exhausted but i had to jump on SpaceMountain solo just one more time to listen to the dated disco space music. i intended to close the park down i guess. i just didnt realize it.
it was hot as hell too. well over 100. but i dont think i got burned at all in the sun, tho i was going for a bit more color. oh well. didnt get that sweaty and miserable. i love this heat!
