LONG POST. MOVE ALONG...
this time i woke up at 4h30.
oh well. good for quiet work time.
every image on my site needs to be checked before it goes up on the new site.
i have over 23,600 images on my site.
currently they're divided up by photographer name. when i first started my site, i wanted to feature the photographers i worked with. i might have been more selective at one time, but then having a content driven site and members that probably don't care much for the actual names of artists doesn't really work. i knew it didn't, but i was stubborn.
now it's time to go with simpler divisions: me, me with friends, guests.
i'll also be adding: performances/out and about/events, kokopuff, print (flyers/magazines), and video.
each gallery has to have a paragraph or two describing it for the search engine.
that way people that want everything to do with me in stockings, can just type in 'stockings'.
people that want to see latex from a particular designer can just type in 'latex' or 'hwdesign'.
then i've got these galleries where there are a hundred images and some are so similar that there's no real difference. those are going out.
there are also images that photographers sent to me so incredibly small. i have images on my site that are only 400 pixels at the largest! those are going down and photogs are being chased to send me images at a proper visible size (800-1000 pxl). for some, i might have CDs of images so i wont have to bother the shooters quite yet. of course some images from photographers that have passed away or have disappeared off the radar will just have to be posted in the smaller size.
i've gotten quite a few galleries done:

last nite me and
sokkmonkey went to see
LETTERS HOME FROM IWO JIMA
it was really good.
i liked it.
i'd recommend it to anyone that would like to spend a couple of hours watching a movie.
i was expecting something like 'letters home from vietnam'
though different war, different race, of course.
a lot better than 'flags of our fathers'.
even though i didn't fully pay attention to that movie, it just didn't keep me enthralled enough to not change the channel (on the airplane).
some of this movie did seem a little patronizing
(by that i mean the dramatic bits that we're forced to witness to reinforce the idea that we are giving our once enemy a human face).
funny bits: shoot the medics! americans will risk many lives for this man!
there are also parts that i'm not sure most lay-people would get
(in regards to the kempetai for one. i have a pretty niced size collection of books stored on the subject, but i'm curious to know how many people have it in their everyday vocabulary).
it's really interesting to note how one's side can so easily shift.
we start out following the japanese soldiers at work on iwo jima digging trenches for the encroaching armies of america. and yet, we (as people watching the film in america) know that they're the enemy. but then there are only some limited scenes featuring americans. some about to die, some dumb, some deadly.
i guess it would be hard to get attached to any of the characters, knowing the final outcome of it all.
--
i'm going to check out another movie today.
hmm.
after i prepare at least 10 galleries to transfer to the new site that is.

i took a nap.
that was good.
now i'm craving dim sum.
i wonder if i could convince mom to go with me.
i've been wasting time on the MM forums blathering about platforms vs heels.
i really do hate it when a girl says she can walk in 6" heels but what she's really saying is that she can stumble around in 6" platforms (which usually only have a heel of about 2.5-3 inches). sometimes, even then they still end up walking around like pre-historic man trying to become fully upright.
(if you want to find it, do a search under 'stripper' in the forums.

i'd also been posting in one of those other bondage themed threads. 'what to expect' i think was this one's topic.

often, some friends and i end up discussing the qualifications that go into taking the title of "bondage master".
i'm not talking about within a private sense (say a master/slave relationship for example),
i'm thinking of more along the lines where someone can have the lofty title emblazoned over flyers, posters, websites, and t-shirts (usually worn over their own chests).
i figured if i wanted to go around and self-proclaim myself as a BONDAGE MASTER, i'd have to fulfill a few requirements starting with...
I have/know/can/am:
1. a complete knowledge of the various bondage styles out there.
2. complete history of bondage, including the history of where it came from, be it from tying up prisoners in historical japan, or the first time some creepy guy purchased duct tape for wrapping over his victim's face.
3. knowledge of every knot done by man, their uses and purposes (which ones are made for easy release, which ones are for blocking, etc). i'm not talking a few, i'm talking all of them.
4. sail.
5. celtic knots too!
6. knowledge of the human muscular system, the skeletal system, circulatory system, and nervous system. (don't forget the feet and extremities!)
7. the ability to read each subjects non verbal clues exactly.
8. oh, and a knowledge of physics and mechanics. applied engineering also helps. what with the need to know about forces and stresses, pulley systems, etc.
9. artistically inclined. i have the ability to arrange a person and the rope in a way that's pleasing to the eye (thinking about photoshoots here)
10. keep that skill up at the drop of at hat and on the fly (thinking about live performances here).
11. a good performer that knows how to read an audience and adapt to the various cultures and countries (seems some audiences are more verbal than others).
12. a good top (for when those duties are called upon).
13. can communicate with or without speaking. (eye contact/gestures/grunts - sometimes it's just too loud).
14. the ability to not make others break out in hysterical laughs the moment they see me.
15. oh, and i am not a fan of pirate shirts. (it's a bit superficial, but screw it).
please

i'm on a roll today.
for some reason my fingers are typing faster and faster
maybe it has to do with all the gallery descriptions i've been forced to write and re-write. usually, when i do school papers, my typing speed goes up (and my postings too if i remember correctly but it helps to keep my brain in order sometimes).
---
shopping online is good!
getting packages is good-er!
:-p
got my new DC shoes. these ones are the Madrids. olive green with baby blue accents.
picked up a new book too: Tiger Force.
about another group of american soldiers pulling a My Lai in vietnam.
also, there's a new magazine i found when i was in London.
really nice. it's part monthly magazine, part web-based reporting.
european-based, but geared towards an international (english-speaking) audience.
i was thinking about it during the movie yesterday afternoon.
the premier issue cover story is about Japan's Martime Self Defence Force:
Under its post-war constitution, Japan is not allowed a navy, army or air force, only Self Defence Forces. Yet, today, the country has one of the largest, most sophisticated fleets in the world with 47 destroyers and nine frigates. Historical tensions with North Korea and China have also seen the country increasingly debating its military future...
i need to get myself a subscription.
