so i'm still here.
yesterday spent too many hours at the stupid airport (which i did like initially)
my flight to melbourne was canceled and of course it wasn't officially decided until we sat around for about 6 hours.
at first we were waiting for a mechanic to finish fixing the plane, then after a bunch of questions we were told there was no mechanic and the airline was waiting for one to come in, as well as a plane.
unfortunately, no dice either way,
other flights were full and only one i could get on would get me to melb at midnight :(
so i missed the show.
fd_midori ended up our show solo.
i have to just keep reminding myself that it's better to find such problems on the ground rather than in the air.
and to roll with the punches.
though it does suck.
i'll be taking the sunday am flight into mebl now. ugh.
at least in time for a shoot on mon and the shark dive on tues.
---
otherwise, the ss yongala dive was awesome.
there were some boat problems with one of the propellers which set us back a few hours (again, better on the ground rather than in the water).
but then we took off and 10 minutes into the ride out, one of the propellers went out again. so a slow trip back to shore -almost. swam back to the beach and the mechanic was called in then the problem was finally fixed and all was well and we were off again.
each dive was about 40+ minutes. super!
water temp was about 26C
came back for the bbq but i had go get on the road to mackay to pack up and get ready for my flight - which obviously didn't happen.
it was well worth it though. i'd come back to make that trip again!
