in Latvia now. at the Riga airport
none of my sim cards work even though my phone is supposed to be unlocked.
bought a local one and that doesn't work too.
keep getting only SOS set up.
oh well.
tine to head out to Tallinn now. Will pick up another SIM card for Estonia when I get there, but first I'll test it out with ppl I'll be with.

So far most everything is pretty cool. Landed at the airport and it has free WiFi.
Kairi, my contact in Tallinn booked me a coach ride up to Tallinn.
It's about a 4 1/2 hour bus ride up north but I figured it'd be cheaper and since I've never seen Latvia, this might be kind of nice.
I can sleep later if i get tired since I had to wake up at 4am to get to DUS for my 6h35 flight.
I'm sitting on the bus now and there is free WiFi as well as power outlets by each seat. Kind of plush though the tables wont support laptops so have to type a bit cramped with this thing on my lap.
I picked up a LV sim card but it's not working normally. I can make SOS calls but that's it.
None of my other SIM cards allow me to call out normally either.
Before I got this phone unlocked, at least my UK SIM would work in other countries even though I'd have toll charges.
I tried my AT SIM in my AT phone and that's giving me SOS only message too.
Frustrating.
Any clues?
Maybe it's time to buy a properly unlocked phone from a non-network affiliated shop.
Air Baltic was nice. From DUS to RIX it's a 2 hour flight. Ended up behind the emergency exit row and no seat in front of me.
After having omelette with veggies for breakfast (served with yogurt, bread, desert cake) ended up passing out.
Unfortunately, woke up with my eye feeling funny. The inner corner of my left lid was a little swollen and felt irritated. It seems like it's not so bad now, just a little sensitive. Kind of freaked me out cuz last nite coming back from dinner, someone was mentioning how during a couple of friends' visit to Los Angeles, they all ended up with pink eye. I don't think it's that though! I hope not!
There's a TV monitor on the bus. Earlier a music video was playing with a girl in a bustier top (and boobs) was strutting around with high heeled boots on. Right now there's some kind of animated thing going on with guns and tanks with images of violence. Kind of a Pink Floyd/The Wall look. Flags and armbands are white circles with red background and a sinister black symbol - almost like a $ sign but sideways and evil.
I wonder what this is!

and it's Freddy Mercury in black n white with the rest of Queen!

ropemarks were there but they weren't staying - and it was the play party night too! Quite of few people were packing up to leave and go to their respective cities/countries.
I was preparing to leave too somewhat as I had a flight at 6h35 in the morning (early Tues) but I kept putting off my final packing.
I wasn't planning on going to the party either so instead, while people got ready to leave, I mostly said my good byes.
After they left I went to do my final preparations and found out that I was actually leaving on the morning of the 15th instead! I got dressed and put the warpaint on in about 10-15 and jumped in a cab and got to the MudiaArt/Delta. It was a smaller crowd but really fun. Re-introduced Eden Wells to Patrck (Shibari by____) and they put on a really great show. Found the bar downstairs and proceeded to knock back a few JDs before heading back to the hotel to pass out.
Tuesday was kind of sad. Most everyone was gone except for a few straglers and only a few of us were actually staying the night.belgiummarc , eden wells, kippiepoo , marc's friends from prague,
martin perrault, bianca beauchamp, her mua, paul nathan, and anastasia pierce headed out to dinner for a last meal. After that, I seriously had to get my butt ready for my 4am wake up call which I did, and I'm not quite sure I how made it this am!
Heading out on an early am trip is easier for me when it's still dark outside though. Maybe I can convince myself it's like sleep walking. I dunno. So then, wake up in DUS, hang out in RIX then a coach to Tallinn which I wrote about already.
