So last nite I saw my friend from a loooong time ago Marky.
He did my make up for numerous shoots with [livejournal.com profile] stevedietgoedde  when we shot stuff for Molly/SoHipItHurts in San Francisco.
We went and ate sushi at Maki which was super yum.
I gave him one of the postcard sets that steve had made up featuring a lot of the older shots from about a decade ago.

Didn't sleep well last nite. Finally passed out around 430am.
Today Laura dragged me to Smoque
omg
YUM
i'm craving it now.
there's a huge manifesto on BBQ.

it's been a red meat day.
just had filet mignon stuffed with blue cheese for dinner.

My suitcase is stuffed.
I have more latex to add to my Greed list with stuff from [livejournal.com profile] vex_clothing  now
And I hate traveling with heavy bags, especially when the weather is hot.
I hear it's hot in California.

My driver is coming to get me at 8am tomorrow for my flight leaving out of Midway.
UGH
sleep on the flight...

I remember those postcards sets... glam Kumi & Midori in SF Chinatown... think I still have a couple.

And yeah - it's hot here in L.A.

Nice hot.

Have you and Steve eaten at Spring Street Smoke House yet? Really yum Texas-style BBQ (+ bar) in LA Chinatown near Olvera St.

I love good food, and Chicago has a wealth of good food - but but I have a very guilty pleasure.

Whenever I'm in town I HAVE to go to:

I know I know...

lol do you like the random abuse they give the customers?

< chuckles >

Hell yes - it's even better when they hear I'm Australian (I slap on the accent VERY broadly when I'm there). They go nuts with it...and then love it when they realise that I can dish it back to them in the same sly-wink manner that they dish it out. I love a good banter over food, every now and again.

hahah I went to Smoque the other day for the first time. I have never had real southern bbq but I think it was kinda vinegary. But tastey!

Oh jesus, just got back from LA and it's hellishly hot. Two words: Desert shoot. At least the shots are awesome and I narrowly avoided a sunburn.

oh that workshop was plenty nice
just 103 in the shade
but someone said like 113 or something stupid hot. not sure really. ppl keep raising the digits.

tho i don't mind the heat. i love it. i just don't like traveling in it.
otherwise, all that latex is a-ok! hahaha

The dry heat isn't as terrible as the humidity...but still, in the latex I was wearing out there I felt as though my skin was literally stating to fry -- and I don't mean in the sweaty sense, it was like the black latex was acting as a convection oven and trying to melt into my flesh. Stronger salt than I, my dear!
