Got to Heathrow in nice time. thanks to ynl who ordered the addie lee for me.
check-in was smooth. headed to Dixons to pick up the Apple MagSafe Airline Adapter.
i was a bit hesitant after reading the reviews of leaving bits n pieces of it behind on the plane, but in the end, the 20 mm adapter (looks like it goes into a car lighter) wasn't used on this particular flight. The product worked fine as well and i can see it being worth the purchase price if future flights are the same.
Then headed over to the Caviar House for brunch and tried out the crab salad. yum yum.
GRRR smoking room is demolished.
well the plane was delayed from LHR for about an hour because a passenger checked in with bags but never actually got on the flight.
no worries though. i fell asleep waiting.
World Traveler Plus does make flying just that much more human.
except for the fact, that i think the woman in the row ahead of me might have had a little accident.
the flight attendants came and cleaned her up. they seemed very polite about it. luckily there was also no smell!
luckily the laptop was working fine with the adapter because the OnDemand service on this flight was suffering.
I ended up watching bits and pieces of StarDust over and over again (i didn't want to). for some reason the programing would seem to freeze up and then revert back to the primary station (1 - which had Stardust).
The ONE advantage of having programing that is on the broadcast cycling system is the fact that for the shorter programs, BA puts on Creature Comforts. It's one of those things that actually makes me laugh out loud sometimes.

So uh, the food was fine, though the snack before landing was full of mushrooms (ick). the nice flight attendant returned with a great roasted bell pepper and chicken salad with an olive oil dressing full of herbs that was yummy. Lots of snacks and OJ sucked down this time as i was worried about getting dehydrated (i'm not drinking enough water compared to JD - as usual).
Also, going to the toilet didnt mean i had to knee the guy sitting next to me in the balls over n over again just to get by. I like that a lot. (i'm sure the passenger sitting next to me did too.
Unfortunately, in this class of seating, the armrests are solid and fixed. that means if you happen to get lucky with an empty seat next to you, it's not possible to use the adjacent space to sprawl into. No biggie though. the extra pitch and room really made this flight more enjoyable and definitely worth the extra for a long haul flight. i actually can't wait for my return to London in March.
i really love it when a flight is actually enjoyable.
Going through SFO immigration ended up being quite smooth this time. No pressing questions and issues. Waiting for baggage was a bit long but no worries. SFO now has one of those CellPhone parking lots for those people waiting to be picked up. More passengers should REALLY tell the people picking them up to use them. it's gotta beat driving around and around and getting yelled at by the traffic cops.
My 8-week old niece was waiting for me. She's got some chubby cheeks! She didn't cry at all the whole time when i was there. (that's a big +).
I tried to stay up for a while but i think i failed this time. watched some movies on the laptop.
now i just gotta settle in and not do a thing for a couple of days.
then it's back to rushing around and organizing shit.
i've got to get Japan sorted out.
As well as Los Angeles too, since that's coming up just after Xmas.
