i think my head hurts a bit
it was the whiskey - i'm sure of it.
so yesterday had a very pleasant drive to Heathrow.
terminal 4 is undergoing construction.
they really need to give that terminal a facelift.
i don't like flying out of there. maybe it should have been a clue...
got through security fast enough (there are now signs saying to leave laptops IN the bags).
then hit the Caviar House & Prunier for my regular meal of foie gras yumminess. it also comes with this white wine jelly.
Tim Woodward found me there and we eventually headed over to the gate.
He usually flies Virgin and I told him I did as well but British Air has been working out great for me for the past couple of years.
I spoke too soon.
It took me 6 attempts to get one of the flight attendants to do something about my screen. And that was finally accomplished with less than 2 houra of flying left. And when it finally did work, it was not the normal "on demand" system but the old cycle system. Then the monitor went out after a few minutes.
My seat back would not recline. I mentioned it a few times to the flight attendants, but not a one tried to physically move it themselves. (i was NOT against a bulkhead. the seat should have reclined).
i take BA because of the certain little things they usually offer. one is the on-demand system and the other is the fact that they have those headrests with the bits that shift about that make it great to doze in your seat. they also offer a non-lactose meal.
the tilapia wasn't too bad but it was amusing to hear the flight attendant describe the meal choices as: "poulet ou une espece de poisson"
So no sleep on this flight. But I did start my letter to BA during it.
what really sucks is the bit where i tell Tim that BA is great, then i get the shit seat.
