i really need to get off my lazy butt and go out
but this stuffed up nose thing is really annoying.

there are too many museums here
so i'm going to see the one with the dinosaurs n stuff
because i liked that movie 'night at the museum'

---

IF i were in London, I would be at the Barbican seeing Eliades Ochoa
With his trademark cowboy hat, Eliades Ochoa is one of the most instantly recognisable figures from the Buena Vista Social Club album and film. Eliades and his fine band are the custodians of Chan Chan and the rest of the Cuban guitar-led and conga driven son repertoire including songs like El Cuarto de Tula and El Carretero.

Hailing from the countryside near Santiago in the east of Cuba, Eliades Ochoa's roots are in guajira (Cuban country music)and his hat and penchant for wearing black have led some to dub him 'Cuba's Johnny Cash'.

dammit dammit damiit

not very children friendly
I am not child friendly . (period)
no point in mincing words.

especially loud screeching type ones
that run about
and exist

museum of natural history was fine but a bit too many people - too many miniature people.
too many not quite adults.

while waiting for the imax to start, i wandered the rooms featuring neaderthal and peking man.
followed a family that was kind of upset the cavemen were not wearing clothes to cover up their bits.
the woman that was most vocal said she would demand the museum place signs warning people about the possible pornography being exhibited. (some of the cavemen were not covered). she did not like that her child would have to see a fake male penis. (another woman in her group/family did mention that the kid did see a real one every day, in fact had one. the first woman responded 'not if i can help it'

people are weird.

i saw the imax movie with the water story on the wild coast of africa.
during the film, in the row in front of me, a father was allowing his son to talk throughout, the man next to me tried to shush the kid, but the father said he'd break his lips if he tried to tell the kid to shut up. ugh.
fun movie though, when you could hear the narrator over the irritating miniature people.

then went n checked out the room with the underwater animals.
then i realized it was kind of lame because i could just see a lot of those animals while diving - and i have already too.

walked across the park to the metropolitan museum of etc
anyone that knows me will realize this is a feat in and of itself.
i walk nowhere if possible.

less kids. walked over to the cafe in the back first. duck confit.
then was checking out the european stuff and realized, uh... i can see this stuff in europe.
then i went to the section with the Asian art which was nice and less inhabited with mini people.
the Korean exhibition was shut though.
headed towards the photography areas which was nice, followed by the modern art.
then to the special exhibit of bronzes. those were cool.
of course the armor and weapons was the best.
i want half of those wheel and flint locking pistols n rifles.gah!
i also feel i should own some armor for a horse because who knows when i'll need to charge into something?

decided to rest my feet for a bit in the big egyptian themed temple room.
then down to meet up with [livejournal.com profile] edmironiuk  and his friends for Korean BBQ dinner including the wife who makes neato devil doll toys!
right now, I feel like a stuffed slab of pig meat. spicy pig meat.
i ate too much. i waddled up the stairs. i ate so much i can't even drink n go out tonite.

no biggie though. my feet hurt and i have a shoot tomorrow at 11am.
supposed to meet up with [livejournal.com profile] wrayb  for dimsum. uh oh. might have to change that for dinner.
