Paul Nathan didn't end up meeting up with Eric Masters or myself in Amsterdam.
We still got to Centraal with a bit of time to buy my 1st class ticket and enjoy the lounge for a little while.
I thought the website offered free wifi but that wasn't true. Eric did take advantage of the free beers available though while i grabbed some tea and enjoyed the peaceful time away from the bustling people down below.

With 10 minutes to spare, we made our way to our train and jumped into the first car that had an awesome view out the front of the train.
(i, like a lame-ass didn't get a photo).
A man came by selling snacks but I should have waited til later because a lady came by to show us a menu and take our food order. I got a huge cherry cheesecake and lovely chicken soup served on real plates with silverware too.
Duisburg came sooner than expected and so did Essen. We rushed off the train at Duisburg and jumped into a taxi when we got to Essen.

When I checked in, Eden Wells was already in the room and settled in.
That evening, Eden, myself, Eric and Paul Nathan headed into town to the G.O.P Variete theater where we got to check out the current show that was there. (Paul is booked to perform for May/June). It was great being able to get away from the hotel and attend a non-fetish night out that was enjoyable! After the show, we had a drink or two with the performers before heading back to the hotel.

The one major difference between this weekend and the previous ones was the weather! Instead of snow blanketing the area outside the hotel, we had clear skies and a little bit of heat to go with the sun. The area outside the restaurant and the pool was open and we used them freely! I would actually say that Friday was a bit warm and I know I didn't want to have to put on latex and sit in the sun. It was so nice, that the Models and Makers party was pushed back a couple of hours because everyone wanted to take advantage of the sun.
I did end up putting on latex (my white vex trousers with the stained glass design up the sides), but it didn't last very long. I think I spent most of this weekend wearing bikini tops and beanie caps (usually without make up on all day long).

Saturday the Expo started and I ran around a bit talking to the designers and also making sure they were aware of rehearsal times, etc. for the next day. Also hung out in the bar area with tons of people and hit the pool a bit as well.

Ended up putting on clothes (and hair) for dinner because I thought it'd be nice at least.
Got the Rumpsteak filet. yum. Not sure about the napkin thing on [livejournal.com profile] hedonydesign  and [livejournal.com profile] maximsphotos, maybe it's a french thing?

Didn't go to the VIP dinner at the Lochschuppen venue. Didn't see any shows.
I wasn't really planning on going at all to the party, but I figured I would. Jumped into the shuttle with a few peeps and headed out!. I wore my green AtsukoKudo and updo wig, but even though I love that outfit, I wasn't really feeling the party. [livejournal.com profile] smy1  got me a shot of JD but I ended up leaving without using my drink card at all. Since the shuttle wasn't running until 2am, I had to get a cab which was €40 of teh suk.
I ended up at the bar and Yannis poured me shots of JD - like at least 7. I was supposed to go to bed and get a good night's sleep before the next long day!

Sunday I woke up not feeling well at all. I felt puffy and irritated. Oh and my personal sharkweek started. Super. And no stores open to buy the necessary supplies. Seems it wasn't only me too. Oh well. Got Eric Masters and headed downstairs to the venue. Had a cab driver that was slow too. But we get to the venue and evveryone is waiting outside. Quite a few people were early too! Even though we were supposed to have access to the venue from 12h00, they decided to not let us in due to the cleaners not being finished - which pretty much screwed up my plans for a super short and organized rehearsal. I tried to get things on track as soon as possible by getting groups to rehearse and organize themselves before getting on the stage. It seemed to work and in the end, the day ended on time - except for Tolllkirshce/Demask but that was OK as they were not leaving the venue. Unfortunately, some of the models in the other shows ended up at the venue longer than I wanted. Fortunately, it wasn't my fault.
Eric Masters ended up choreographing and taking over the [profile] ego_assassin  show at the last minute. Nicole, Lilith, Eden Wells, Eden Berlin & Monique Vegas ended up being great in a super simple and yet sexy show that lasted a quick 4.5 minutes. (I like short).

Saw lots of people that I'd not seen like Marcus Ewers but unfortunately no time to chat. (I did chat with him a bit at the Meet/Greet thing - and with [livejournal.com profile] zuckerrotermond and other peeps too) Damn. so many, I'll die listing them all and looking up LJ names!
I was feeling pretty wrecked by the end of the rehearsal day. I kept a bottle of water near and tried to stay focused and get the people in/out as quickly as possible while trying to get last minute requests handled - and of course, everyone had at least a couple of those. Miguel, who runs FE, even threw one at me involving all of the models coming back after the show to take the stage once more. The area above the flat stage/catwalk that was built is a wall full of openings at various levels. It's really cool and set up for dancers. But getting models - even 30 or so to commit would be close to impossible.

Back to the hotel with Eric Masters and a quick dinner. The restaurant was full and only taking reservations but we squeezed in with Paul Nathan and some other guests. Hell, if I didn't get food then there'd be no way I'd survive the night. Showered and then wrote up the set list and timing cues. The hotel computer wasn't printing out my Google Docs so had to do copies by hand :(
Back to the venue around 10pm and prepared for the night.

The timing this year was a little off - well, some of the things went a lttle sooner than expected - which was actually great. But each set went out on time pretty much, and stayed true to what I planned. All the designers and models were on stage and ready to go on time - though i'd probably want some of them there a little earlier and a little less stressed out - yes, i'm taking about you [livejournal.com profile] hedonydesign  :p
In the end, a lot less stress than last year actually even though the backstage area was incredibly tight considering 100+ models were scheduled to participate - and most people did keep their boyfriends out of the room and out of my way. I did end up yelling at someone to 'get the fuck out' and physcially grabbed them to do so. (of course they've been looking at me strangely since them - hell, i was only trying to do my job, and by being there, they were making my job more dificult. they also just happened to always stand in the middle of where people would walk).

When people go diving on a boat, it's usually polite and good form to limit the amount of things one can bring on board because space is limited. For the models, I'd start to impose a damn baggage limit like the airlines do. Why the hell would someone need a large suitcase to bring their things in? Seriously, it's the kind of bag I pack when I'm going on an international flight for like a week or a few - like now. I realize designers have props n such things, but shit, do the models realize that there are other models in other shows that are going to need space to get ready and do their thing?

I'm also a smoker but considering the size/layout of the room, I'd ban smoking except in the little outdoor area we had access too. Too many barefeet and cigarettes that were just thrown down without being put out. Cramped spaces and latex and cigarettes are a shitty idea.

I woke up the next morning feeling not too bed, but my feet hurt like hell :-(

More later, I need a nap

so i got pretty toasted on proseco after the show.

i can see [livejournal.com profile] world_of_rubber and Harald behind me and the Baroness.

i got suckered into doing this interview. yes. no more latex. proseco made me want to get out of my latex. i think i did the interview in english. no german. no english. whatever. they got some mixtures of everything. me with [livejournal.com profile] world_of_rubber

i really enjoy this event. this year was fun too.
but i hate going to events and not working (ie making money or something)
so this year, instead of working for HW, i was running the Vex show.
the last event i went to for fun, i ended up bailing on earlier.
anyhoo, summary of my weekend...

woke up early in athens on sat am to catch my flight to Dusseldorf. (i skipped out on the friday events). [livejournal.com profile] world_of_rubber picked me up at the airport! (nice since i usually take the DB to the HBF in Essen then a quick taxi to the hotel. He showed me the 1500 balloons i'd be blowing up for the Vex show. Luckily, there was a machine to help out. (Luckily HE was there the entire weekend to help out everyone above and beyond!) Checked in at the hotel to find [livejournal.com profile] kippiepoo in the room a bit tired from the previous evening ;)
Picked up the clothes from Vex and started getting ready to see models for fittings and to let them hear the music. I got the model list and rehearsal times from Nikki. Three rehearsal times set for VexClothing but I figured we'd only need one. Wow! All the shows at about 15 models a piece. We only had 7.

i hung out downstairs and hit the bar for a few shots of JD and food, then went upstairs to take a nap which ended up lasting into the evening. HaraldW called to say they were checked in and to come to their room for a party. i said sure. i ended up passing out again.

Sunday was more hanging out, waiting for models, and then the one rehearsal i wanted to do in order to give the models a completely free monday before the event. I told the models to be downstairs at 10 to 5 since the MudiaArt is only a short distance away and i organized transpo for all of us. (again happy we were only 7). waited for 2 of the models to come downstairs around 45 minutes late.

Of course, the rehearsals ended up being late as well. instead of sitting around for 2 hours, i gave them the option of staying or doing the rehearsal on monday. we left the venue. I also spoke to naminia (stage manager) who told me there was no net for our balloon drop and the man running the venue who said that there was no way to handle my request. so no balloon drop.

For the Sunday dinner party, I ended up going to Indian food with Harlad Wilfer, [livejournal.com profile] mistress_sandra, [livejournal.com profile] world_of_rubber, & Marcus. We were later joined by LouisAMF, Hazmat, [livejournal.com profile] punkythecat and [livejournal.com profile] jwilkins. [livejournal.com profile] maximsphotos, [livejournal.com profile] ulorin_vex and [livejournal.com profile] rootofsilence too showed up after but since we finished eating, we headed back to the hotel to get ready for the party.

had an ok time. mostly hung out with sandra and harald. saw [livejournal.com profile] tatsu_otoko but didn't catch his show with anna and nicole. chatted a bit with steve english (i just saw my full page ad for DeMask). saw a BUNCH of people, too many to list! left early to go back to the hotel and pass out and get ready for the next day.

Monday: i gave a call time of 2pm for the rehearsal. it was actually at 2h30. we didnt get to the venue until almost 3pm. Things were late there again and i really dont understand why if the first group is late, then the others have to suffer for it. you kick them off the stage and go on in a timely manner. in anycase, all the models were present by the time we got on stage. did 2 runs of the show (about 16 minutes total) then we headed back to the hotel.

gave the models a call time of 10pm to be at the venue. naminia told us we had to be ready to queue up at the staging area at 11pm for the first block of shows. a little stressed because 2 of the girls showed up 20 minutes before we were supposed to be ready. GAAAAAHHHH. of course, emily had to be on first with paul nathan so we had to get her dressed in a rush outside (one of the shows before us was shifted at the last minute to the 2nd block which gave us 10 minutes less to get her ready to go). it all went well enough though and we made it on time with no big delay. got fotos snapped, then got the models undressed and the clothes back in the bag. no one got to wear their stuff afterwards because i wanted the pieces intact when i handed them over to Jean Bardot in the am to take with her.

this year i stuck around and drank a bunch o proseco with sandra and who knows who else. ran around in the dungeon area and saw a bunch of people having fun in the dungeon. some torturing, some drinking, some otherstuff i wont mention and there wont be photos of in order to protect the innocent. left before the others though, since i had to do more work still.

in the am, hit breakfast early. the Mercure Hotel in Essen has the best breakfast spread. too bad the food the rest of the day suffers. i saw miguel who asked me why there was no balloon drop because there was a net, and the means to hoist it. hmm. great communication going on there with me and the stage manager. she never told me any thing monday when i saw her. oh well.

ran upstais to pack and was insanely jealous of [livejournal.com profile] kippiepoo who got to snooze while dizzy self packed. ran downstairs to meet up with Harald and Sandra for our drive to Vienna.

---

There is nothing i hate more than someone else wasting my time. and then, on top of that, knowing that the other models are having to wait as well since they actually decided to show up on time.

now i get to write to Laura/Vex to give her my report of all the compliments and complaints. then another note to the models that were in my show.

next year: the HW show!

just got in to Amsterdam
sitting at Ancilla and Alexander's pad now.
got a ride from Mistress Medianne and Hank from Essen.

hmm what can i remember? a bunch o stuff but not everything
mostly sober since i was working with HW and sitting at the expo and a hangover wasnt too appealing.

arrived thursday without much incident.
likewise for the next couple of days as well as the rest of the weekend actually.
i brought my Marquis Fetish Model Directory to get it signed but didn't get to see much in the way of gummischlampes that were there and in the book.
a few though.

the breakfast is the best at that hotel.
yum yum.

Fri nite, model n maker's party.
no latex. comfy dress. gotta pic too.
bunch o people

sway, sandra/marquis, me, robert chouraqui, sandra/hwdesign
hey, there's dante in the bg

got bored of wearing a dress so went upstairs to change but ended up back at the bar for some reason.
nother pic

baldies
pix from roman kasperski

Sat day expo/nite, dinner n party.
sat at booth most of the day.
wore hw dress with black stockings and lace accent.
smoked and yapped at ppl.

the dinner party wasn't as good it seemed. at least for me.
HW had VIP dinner tickets for Sat nite. got there a lil late and had to sit seperate a bit. then of course there was a big pole blocking our view of the state. but paul nathan did a lil private magic show for our table where i talked mostly with a nice crew from near Geneva (2 models in the HW show) and also Thomas and Pinky from near Munich (who gave me my copy of Alufem).
food was cold. and when it wasn't forks weren't on the table. gah.
other people had good stuff i think, but out tables didn't.
Bailed from the dinner early with Tina and Slave Paule to the hotel.

SUNDAY
another expo day.
at HW booth again, this time in trans red catsuit with monster hood.
i guess all the monster hoods sold. which means time for another idea for another hood! good good good
done with expo, packed up the latex and DVDs.
back to the hotel exhausted but no time to sleep.
rehearsal at the mudiaArt but luckily this year, there was no 4+ hour wait to rehearse. HW took about 5 minutes to do our bit then we left. If rehearsals could only be so easy all the time.
oh and i was getting really irritated by this time.
tired of being 'on' for too many mornings and nights and i needed to not hear people for a bit. but of course, no time for that.
quick pizza, nap, then back to the venue where we got dressed and took photos with peterCzernich. then to the stage, where i walked like a total gimp since i couldnt see out of my eyeless hood (for some reason i could see better in SF). shit. ok. off the stage. back to dressing area. changed and bailed with Tina back to the hotel where the Two Towers was on TV. RAWR.

MONDAY
good breakfast
everyone else looked really hungover. hah.
HAhAHAhahahahahhahAHHAAHAhaHAHAHaHahahaha.
hung out and chatted with folks. then went to dinner with Miguel and Nikki (told them of the SF trip they missed), Medianne & Hank from NL, Harald & Tina, Ess&Em, & Paul Nathan. At the kids table was um.. dante posh, eric masters, a couple from vienna, and for some reason i fergit cuz he was hidden by the wall... fotog... Food was good. back to the hotel and then packed and washed latex.

pretty much a good weekend, tho nothing i'd buy from the expo (latex wise).
not must stuff tho some irritations. nothing worth posting about really.
yea. blah blah blaaaaa.

nice to see tim n lynne from australia again. i will get out there next time... nice to hang out with people i've not seen in a while. nice to meet new folks from geneva. i got to see wolfgang eichler again. that was nice. prolly heading down to fulda after berlin on the DB to do a shoot with TVDS, and possibly over to Munich for another. then the south of france after that. damn. june needs more dates. fun to see others from Italy that i've not seen in a while, tho working kind of cuts down the real talking time. oh well. did get to reinforce friendships and business relationships so that was nice.
