grr damn puters

ok
so now my dad puter not working
couple days ago router go poot
but i was able to get internet connection even though he wasn't able to log into his precious aol or connect to kazaa.
well at least the IE was fast.
green light all G on the modem

but yesterday he tells me internet no work at all.
just 2 days ago it was working
so i go look at it when i get home
no green light on modem

when i plug in my cable all is G
(hence me being able to post)
i love my puter.

call alberta canada to talk to cute sounding comcast guy who i tease for saying aboot. he so sweet.
tells me that if i take a mallet to the puter and green light goes on then good for me but cannot recommend it.
also cannot tell me to reseed the card but is only option since it was working a couple days ago.
then tells me he can send out guy 2morrow but will cost $50 since chances are, it's not a comcast problem. i ask if i can request cute guy but he says no guarantee. he cant fly out to SF anyways.
but then of course, i can go to any puter store and buy card for like $15 and do it myself. drag the card i got with me too...

so yea. gotta do that 2morrow.

i hope it works cuz i dont know what else there is for me except a really pissed off dad and no end of shit for a looong time.

Re-seating the card didn't work?

I don't know if he explained it, but he basically meant take it out...run an eraser (abrasive) over the gold contacts on both sides...plug it back in. (power off, etc. etc)

Did he have you do all that?
